Since our founding in 1994, the Birmingham Bar Foundation has worked independently and collaboratively with the Birmingham Bar Association to raise money and provide volunteers for a variety of charitable causes and law-related educational projects.

Our Mission

The Birmingham Bar Foundation encourages and unifies the philanthropic and educational efforts of the Birmingham Bar Association for the betterment of our community and for the promotion of justice.

Through the concerted efforts of the members of the BBA and the proactive initiatives of the Foundation's Board of Directors, we have proudly supported over 60 local charities and provided close to $2,000,000 in grants. This significant financial backing has enabled numerous organizations to extend their reach and enhance the impact of their vital services within our community. Each grant represents a commitment to fostering positive change, whether it’s through education, social services, or community development.

The combined dedication of BBA members and the strategic vision of our board have been instrumental in identifying and addressing the pressing needs of our local area. By collaborating with a diverse range of charitable organizations, we ensure that our contributions are both meaningful and far-reaching. Our support has empowered these charities to innovate, expand their programs, and ultimately improve the lives of countless individuals.

Looking forward, we remain steadfast in our mission to foster a thriving and inclusive community. We are committed to continuing our support for local charities, seeking out new opportunities for impact, and ensuring that our grants are used to create lasting, positive change. Together, with the unwavering support of BBA members and the strategic guidance of our board, we will continue to make a difference, one grant at a time.
